Answer : if your birthday is all yin energies, the anwere is you should avoid to attend these ceremonies. Otherwise if you are attending a wake, that is generally fine, provided its situated at HDB common area in Singapore particularly. But its greatly depends on area, if areas is filled with lots of casket parlour (eg : Sin Ming, Kallang, etc.), its better for you to avoid if knowing your luck cycle is low, as these places are filled with intense Yin Energies to prevent your luck continue to slip down further.
As attending wake pertaining to sending off ceremony with cremation or burial, you may attend provided you know well whether the date for sending off is against crashing with your year of birth as well as your daymaster in your birthday. As its your own duty to check with the respective taoist priest, or any person in charge of the rituals.
This procedure does not take into account whether you are a related members/ relatives to the immediate family, applies across everyone and anyone.
